Hello you guys! I am sorry that I didn't have a New Year's post but, we had family here and I was too tired to think of what to right. Maybe I will do one soon... like in June.
I have been reading Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan and I just read the chapter where Christian finally made it to the cross. When he saw it, the burden of sin fell off of his back and he sang this song,
"Thus far did I come laden with my sin,
Nor could aught ease the grief that I was in,
Till I came hither. What a place is this!
Must here be the beginning of my bliss?
Must here the burden fall from off my back?
Must here the strings that bound it to me crack?
Blest cross! Blest sepulchre! Blest rather be
The Man that there was put to shame for me!"
When Jesus died He took all of the sins of everyone. Then when He rose on the third day He conquered over sin. He took our shame, our burden. When you believe in what Jesus did for you, you go from being a dirty sinner to being white as snow. All the sin that you had is now gone and gone forever. All the burden you were carrying Jesus took for you and everyone in this world. All you have to do is believe in Him. A true belief, not just know and don't care. That is the only way to rid of your sin. You can't work for it, you can't pay for it, you can only take the gift He offers and believe. The burden of sin is not something you want to hold onto. It only leads to destruction. It is all your choice, either you live with your burden or you let Jesus take it and you lean on Him.
God bless you all,
Rebekah
Hallelujah Rebekah! Till I came hither. What a place is this! Amen and Amen
